Our hair, beauty and holistic therapy courses include lots of opportunities for you to get hands-on experience of the world of work, including:Work experience with businesses including Champney?s, Bannatyne Spa Fairfield, Aqua-Sana, Center Parcs, Wella and local theatre companiesThe opportunity to help run Hart Salon, working with paying customersVisits to businesses and major events such as Salon International, Pro Hair Live, Baber UK, Victoria & Albert Museum and Professional Beauty ShowWorkshops including Dermalogica and Wella London, tanning, advanced waxing and stone therapyYour course will be a mix of salon, classroom and workshop sessions that explore practical skills, working with employers and the local community and work experience. As this is a technical qualification, you will undertake externally set theory and practical exams.Course content includes health and safety, anatomy and physiology, waxing/hair removal, facial and skin analysis, manicure and pedicure, gel polish application, lash and brow treatments, makeup and tanning, retail and reception skills.You will hone relevant workplace skills such as client care, wider communication and commercial skills and problem-solving.You will also complete maths GCSE to grade 4 if you haven?t got it, as it is essential in this industry.
